Plawsworth Hall is situated near a once small farming hamlet, now a village known as Bowburn and can be located in County Durham, in the U.K. Bowburn, a village named after the shape of a small stream that flows through it, has a history closely tied to coal mining, much like other villages in the region. Although several coal mines were established in the area during the 19th century, significant development did not occur until the construction of a new Bowburn Colliery in 1906. As a result, Bowburn marked its centenary on July 23, 2006. In order to get to Bowburn, it has great transport links and you are able to get there from London by train in 3 hours.
It is a 7 minute cab ride from Durham train station which most major trains can come into when travelling from London and costs £52-£283. If you’d rather take the scenic approach, Megabus travels from London to Durham University and takes 7 hours and 30 minutes and can cost anywhere from £41-£52, if you are opting for a cheaper alternative then this would be the ideal way to get there. Of course if you choose to travel by car then this will take 4 ½ hours and will be at the comfort and convenience of your own time and space.
